End of year photography reel, set to the tune of one of my favorite classical piano pieces-Chopin’s Fantaisie Impromptu, which I was fortunate enough to hear live, at my daughter’s piano recital this past year.
2024 was filled with extraordinary natural phenomena- a full solar eclipse, historic aurora borealis displays and a once in a lifetime comet sighting. But the bigger story for me started earlier this year, after seeking out constructive feedback. The advice I received prompted me to revisit some core questions including 'why' I shoot and what is most inspiring to me. From this point on, I started questioning everything I shot, which was supposed to help me find answers, but had the opposite effect. In my pursuit of finding a unique and more authentic niche, I started experiencing creative paralysis and becoming less enthusiastic about photography. However, over time was able to break through it by taking more photos with my phone and initiating a few side projects. Fast forwarding to the present, I am still chasing the answers to those core questions and ultimately more authenticity as an artist, but am happy with the progress made. Thank you all for allowing me to share these moments with you, and for joining me on this journey. Happy new year all!
